The Network Administrator is a key member of the IT team, responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of an organization's computer networks. The role involves overseeing the day-to-day management, deployment, configuration, and ongoing operations of data networks and related technologies. The Network Administrator will work closely with other IT staff to troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensure network security, maintain system documentation, and support the planning and implementation of network projects. This position requires a proactive individual with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware, and will be expected to stay current with emerging technologies and improvements in the field.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the performance and security of computer networks regularly and make adjustments as needed.
• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, software, and other system components.
• Develop and implement network security protocols to keep the network secure from cyber threats.
• Troubleshoot and resolve network issues and outages promptly to minimize downtime.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls to ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
• Create and maintain comprehensive network documentation and diagrams for reference and auditing.
• Collaborate with IT team members and other departments to understand networking requirements.
• Plan and implement network upgrades and expansions to support organizational growth.
• Provide technical support and training to end-users on network-related issues.
• Stay informed about new technologies and industry trends to improve network operations.
• Evaluate and recommend new network technologies to improve efficiency and performance.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards regarding network management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience working in network administration or a similar role.
• Strong understanding of network infrastructure, protocols, and security principles.
• Experience with network management and monitoring tools such as Wireshark, SolarWinds, etc.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to perform under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with various teams.
