We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Lab Assistant for our Pathology department. This role is essential in supporting the day-to-day operations within the lab, participating in critical testing processes, and maintaining the overall efficiency of our laboratory activities. Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation and processing of specimens for analysis.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory and workstations.
• Operate and maintain laboratory equipment according to standard protocols.
• Support pathologists and technicians in conducting various laboratory tests.
• Ensure proper labeling and storage of specimens to avoid misidentification.
• Document and maintain accurate records of all laboratory activities and results.
• Monitor supplies inventory and assist in ordering necessary laboratory materials.
• Dispose of laboratory waste in adherence to safety and environmental standards.
• Handle specimens with care to prevent contamination or damage.
• Participate in ongoing training and development activities to enhance technical skills.
• Adhere to all safety protocols and standard operating procedures consistently.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure workflow efficiency and quality assurance.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in biology preferred.
• Prior experience working in a laboratory, preferably in pathology, is advantageous.
• Familiarity with general laboratory safety practices and equipment handling.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow detailed instructions closely.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Proficient in using basic computer programs for data entry and record management.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate clearly.
