An IT Business Analyst is an integral role within an organization, responsible for bridging the gap between IT and the business using data analytics to assess processes, determine requirements, and deliver data-driven recommendations and reports to executives and stakeholders. The IT Business Analyst actively participates in project teams and is involved in the design and modification of business or IT systems. This position requires strong analytical, communication, and technical skills, as it involves diverse aspects like developing solutions that require significant IT involvement, understanding technical concepts, and employing methodologies in the software development lifecycle. The IT Business Analyst ensures the implementation of technology solutions in a cost-effective way by determining the requirements of a project or program and communicating them clearly to all stakeholders, facilitators, and partners.

Responsibilities

• Analyze the structure of a business to determine how it operates and meets its objectives.
• Use data modeling practices to analyze your findings and create suggestions for strategic and operational improvements and changes.
• Implement and support business information systems across multiple departments within the enterprise.
• Conduct research and analysis for proposed IT projects to develop an in-depth understanding of business initiatives.
• Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements for technology solutions and applications.
• Facilitate decision-making processes by engaging in meetings with stakeholders and IT teams.
• Identify problems within the business, including through using data modeling techniques.
• Evaluate potential software and hardware solutions to ensure the best fit for business needs.
• Act as a liaison between business departments and IT, translating business needs into technical specifications.
• Ensure that outcomes meet the requirements set by business stakeholders and comply with company standards.
• Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and initiatives related to organizational needs.
• Participate in user acceptance testing to ensure software meets the agreed-upon requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in the IT sector, with strong analytical skills.
• Excellent understanding of technology systems and operations to support business processes.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage stakeholder expectations.
• Proficiency in working with data modeling tools and set methodologies for analysis and reporting.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, discussions, and meetings effectively with diverse teams.
• Exceptional problem-solving capabilities with a focus on customer-centric solutions and innovation.
