Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative assessments of patients to determine surgical procedures needed.
• Perform a variety of surgical procedures with a focus on optimal patient outcomes.
• Manage postoperative care, including monitoring patient recovery and managing complications.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in planning and implementing patient care strategies.
• Maintain detailed and accurate medical records of all surgical procedures performed.
• Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in surgical techniques.
• Offer consultations and advice to patients and their families regarding surgical options.
• Conduct research and stay informed about new surgical treatments and practices.
• Participate in continuing education and training programs to maintain surgical skills.
• Ensure compliance with medical laws, ethical standards, and hospital policies.
• Assist in developing protocols and guidelines for surgical procedures and department operations.
• Provide mentorship and training to junior surgeons, residents, and medical students.

Requirements

• Medical degree from an accredited medical school with board certification in General Surgery.
• Minimum of five years’ experience as a practicing general surgeon post-residency.
• Proficiency in performing a wide range of surgical procedures independently.
• Strong understanding of surgical equipment and technologies currently used in healthcare.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex medical information.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-stress situations and emergencies.
