Job Description

The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of the company’s buildings, equipment, and facilities. This position requires a strategic thinker who can effectively manage resources and mentors the facility staff to ensure the company’s premises are safe, secure, and efficient. Facilities Managers coordinate with all internal departments and some external vendors to ensure all regulatory requirements and operational standards are met. An effective Facilities Manager must be able to prioritize tasks, handle emergencies efficiently, and maintain an excellent record of all facility-related activities. This role is pivotal to sustaining a conducive and productive work environment that can accommodate the needs of employees and business operations.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage all facility-related projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Supervise maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records of all facility management activities and budgets.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors for facility-related services and improvements.
  • Implement energy-saving measures to promote efficient use of resources.
  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and resolve building and environmental issues.
  • Ensure facilities meet health, safety, and environmental standards and regulations.
  • Develop and manage a comprehensive security strategy for the facility premises.
  • Oversee the purchase of equipment, supplies, and materials needed for facility operations.
  • Manage and support the facility staff including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Prepare contingency plans to handle any emergencies, disruptions, or crises effectively.
  • Analyze data and generate reports to enhance overall facilities’ performance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facility Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 5 years of experience in facilities management or related role.
  • Strong knowledge of facilities management principles and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrable problem-solving skills and experience with crisis management.
  • Proficiency in facilities management software and systems for record keeping.
  • Good communication skills to interact with all levels of the organization.
