Job Description

Responsibilities

  • Assist the dentist during a variety of treatment procedures and dental care tasks.
  • Ensure the comfort and safety of patients during their appointments and treatments.
  • Prepare and maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment sterilization protocols.
  • Perform patient intake by gathering dental history and recording vital signs.
  • Take and develop dental radiographs (x-rays) with attention to safety protocols.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation throughout the patient visit.
  • Support the general operation of the dental office by managing inventory and ordering supplies.
  • Assist with the management of dental emergencies and initial patient assessments.
  • Educate patients on post-operative and general oral hygiene care instructions.
  • Schedule appointments and follow-ups, maintaining an efficient appointment calendar.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, their families, and other health professionals.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the dental practice.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Dental Assistant certification preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or similar role in a dental office.
  • Knowledge of dental instruments, procedures, and terminology is essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills required.
  • Familiarity with dental practice management software and digital radiography tools.
  • CPR and first aid certifications are preferred for emergency preparedness.
