Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and passionate Chinese Chef to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of traditional and contemporary Chinese cuisine, bringing creativity and flair to our kitchen. As a Chinese Chef, you will be responsible for preparing meals and providing high-quality dishes following the restaurant’s standards. You should have strong knowledge of Chinese culinary techniques and the ability to prepare various dishes from different regions of China. Your role will involve collaborating with other kitchen staff to maintain a cohesive and efficient environment while ensuring that each dish is crafted to the highest quality. Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of Chinese dishes using authentic techniques and ingredients.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure dishes are prepared in a timely manner.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workspace at all times.
  • Develop new recipes and menu items, utilizing feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Ensure high standards of food hygiene and follow safety guidelines and protocols.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed to ensure smooth operations.
  • Train and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring adherence to preparation and cooking standards.
  • Work closely with the management to plan and cost menus for profitability.
  • Conduct regular taste tests to ensure the quality and flavor of dishes are consistent.
  • Handle customer feedback professionally and make necessary adjustments to improve service.
  • Stay updated with the latest culinary trends and integrate new techniques into the menu.
  • Perform other related duties to support the kitchen operations and business objectives.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Chinese Chef in a reputable restaurant or hotel.
  • Extensive knowledge of traditional and modern Chinese cooking methods.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented kitchen environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to maintain a positive kitchen atmosphere.
  • Possession of culinary certifications or relevant training in Chinese cuisine.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
