Job Description

The role of a CCTV Camera Technician is integral to ensuring the security and surveillance of premises through the effective installation, maintenance, and repair of security camera systems. The technician conducts site assessments to determine areas requiring surveillance, then installs and configures CCTV cameras and related equipment. They must have a good grasp of both analog and digital video technology and be skilled in troubleshooting hardware and software issues. Additionally, they ensure systems meet the clients' specific needs, comply with all relevant regulations, and maintain privacy and confidentiality. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically skilled, and possesses excellent customer service skills, ensuring the client's satisfaction with their security installations.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct site assessments to determine the optimal placement for CCTV cameras.
  • Install and configure CCTV cameras and all related equipment efficiently.
  • Ensure all systems comply with industry standards and relevant regulations.
  • Perform regular maintenance to ensure cameras are functioning optimally.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve any hardware or software issues promptly.
  • Provide excellent customer service and support to address client concerns.
  • Document installation processes and maintain detailed service records.
  • Train clients on system operation and answer any questions post-installation.
  • Keep up to date with the latest advancements in CCTV technology and security trends.
  • Collaborate with team members to improve installation and service procedures.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and integrity of client data and video feeds.
  • Follow safety and security measures during all installations and repairs.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CCTV Technician or similar technical role required.
  • Strong knowledge of CCTV systems, both analog and digital, is essential.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills with technical equipment.
  • Ability to read blueprints and technical manuals for system installations.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with clients and team members.
  • Relevant technical certifications or equivalent work experience preferred.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel as needed.
