Responsibilities

• Conduct electrocardiograms (EKGs) to measure heart activity and function.
• Assist cardiologists during various cardiovascular diagnostic and interventional procedures.
• Set up and calibrate cardiac monitoring equipment to ensure accuracy.
• Monitor patient conditions and cardiovascular equipment during tests or procedures.
• Document and report test results and other relevant patient data accurately.
• Maintain a clean and functional work environment and preserve patient supplies.
• Educate patients about upcoming procedures and answer any related questions.
• Schedule and confirm appointments with patients considering their medical urgency.
• Check the functionality of medical devices to ensure they are operative pre-procedure.
• Encourage and assist patients in maintaining calmness during stressful procedures.
• Coordinate with healthcare staff to ensure smooth patient workflow and procedure readiness.
• Adhere to all healthcare regulatory standards and safety protocols at all times.

Requirements

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or a related health field required.
• Certification through a recognized body such as CCT or RCIS preferred.
• Minimum of two years of experience working in a cardiac care setting.
• Proficient in using EKG, stress testing, and Holter monitoring equipment.
• Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical and observational skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Solid understanding of medical terminology, particularly concerning cardiovascular health.
