Job Description

The AVP/VP of Finance plays a pivotal role in managing the financial health of an organization. This executive is responsible for safeguarding the organization's assets, ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks, and supporting strategic planning and growth through insightful financial analysis and decision-making. The AVP/VP of Finance leads a dynamic team, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence, and serves as a key partner to the executive team, providing critical financial insights. With a deep understanding of financial markets, regulatory requirements, and fiscal management, the AVP/VP of Finance is essential in steering the company towards long-term financial success.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial operations and direct corporate financial planning and structure.
  • Develop and implement financial strategies to meet the organization’s long-term goals.
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and analysis for senior management.
  • Manage relationships with banks, auditors, and other financial institutions.
  • Lead the budgeting process and guide business units through financial planning activities.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard financial assets of the organization.
  • Oversee cash flow management and forecasting to ensure financial stability.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, both domestic and international.
  • Present financial reports to the board of directors and executive committee.
  • Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations for decision-making.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop the finance team for optimal performance.
  • Drive process improvements within the finance department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA preferred.
  • CFA or CPA certification highly regarded and preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial experience, with at least 5 in a leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and accounting practices.
  • Proven track record of managing financial operations in a dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to model and interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience presenting to a senior audience.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop a high-performing finance team.
