Job Description

The Assistant Credit Manager is a pivotal role within the financial sector, responsible for supporting the Credit Manager in overseeing the credit control processes and ensuring the effective management of the organization's credit risk. This position requires a keen eye for detail, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to enhance the organization's credit portfolio. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Credit Manager in evaluating the creditworthiness of potential clients and stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement strategies to improve the effectiveness of credit control operations.
  • Monitor outstanding balances and follow up with clients to ensure timely payments.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports for senior management, highlighting credit risks and solutions.
  • Coordinate with the accounting department to reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies.
  • Conduct regular analysis of credit data and financial statements to assess risks.
  • Track and report on credit limit utilization and recommend adjustments as necessary.
  • Foster strong relationships with clients to facilitate efficient credit management processes.
  • Collaborate with the risk management team to identify potential credit exposure threats.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant credit policies and legal regulations.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of improvements in the credit approval process.
  • Provide training and support to junior credit control staff as required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in credit management or a similar financial role is preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and build relationships.
  • Knowledge of credit management software and account reconciliation processes.
  • Thorough understanding of credit policies, regulations, and financial principles.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
