Job Description

The Assistant Credit Manager plays a crucial role in the finance department by assisting the Credit Manager in overseeing the credit granting process for our organization. This involves assessing the creditworthiness of potential customers and continuing the evaluation of current customers. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail and possess excellent analytical skills to interpret complex financial information. Critical to success in this role is the ability to balance approving credit to stimulate sales while ensuring that the risk of non-payment is minimized. The Assistant Credit Manager will work closely with the sales teams to align credit decisions with company goals and strategies, ensuring that customer financial interactions are smooth and beneficial for both parties.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing and implementing credit policies and procedures for efficiency.
  • Review and analyze customer credit applications to determine their credit worthiness.
  • Maintain accurate records of credit information in compliance with company policy.
  • Monitor customer accounts to identify overdue balances and take appropriate actions.
  • Collaborate with sales teams to ensure seamless transaction processes and communication.
  • Review and revise credit limits based on customer’s financial status and payment history.
  • Prepare detailed reports on credit activity and risk management for senior managers.
  • Respond to customer inquiries in a timely and professional manner to foster good relations.
  • Assist in resolving disputed invoices with customers and internal teams effectively.
  • Conduct regular credit reviews to update customer risk ratings and financial conditions.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior credit staff on best practices and procedures.
  • Liaise with collection agencies for overdue account actions and recovery strategies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in credit management or related finance roles.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial analysis and interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Proficient in using credit management software and Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teams and senior management to achieve goals.
