Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Staff Nurse to join our Emergency Department. The ideal candidate will possess a compassionate and professional demeanor while demonstrating exceptional clinical skills. This position requires an individual who is capable of working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment. The Staff Nurse will play a critical role in providing direct care to patients, collaborating with other healthcare professionals, and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to improving the overall patient experience in the emergency department, be highly organized, and have a strong capacity for problem-solving under pressure. This position entails shift work, including nights, weekends, and holidays, to ensure 24/7 coverage of the department. Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) systems is also essential.


Responsibilities

  • Assess patients’ conditions rapidly and accurately in a high-pressure environment.
  • Provide immediate care for patients experiencing a medical emergency.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary emergency team.
  • Implement and follow physician orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Administer medications safely according to established protocol and guidelines.
  • Document patient care clearly, concisely, and thoroughly in the EMR system.
  • Manage patient flow to maximize department efficiency and patient care.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, family members, and colleagues.
  • Assist in the management of crises requiring quick decisions and interventions.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to maintain nursing competencies.
  • Comply with all hospital policies and procedures while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Educate patients and their families about health management and treatment plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with active nursing license.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing.
  • Certification in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required.
  • Strong ability to manage acute care situations effectively and calmly.
  • Proven proficiency in using electronic medical records for documentation.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle diverse patient populations.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.
