Job Description

As a Service Advisor in the Automobile industry, you will be the primary liaison between the customer and our service department. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our customers receive an exceptional service experience. You will be responsible for understanding customer needs, recommending appropriate service solutions, and keeping them informed throughout the servicing process. By leveraging your excellent communication and organizational skills, you will facilitate the smooth and efficient operation of our service department. You should have a deep understanding of automotive systems and a passion for providing top-notch customer service, ensuring that each customer leaves satisfied and their expectations met or exceeded.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers warmly and consult on service needs and vehicle problems.
  • Provide accurate cost estimates and completion times for vehicle services.
  • Record detailed customer requests or complaints regarding the vehicle service.
  • Schedule appointments ensuring efficient distribution of service workload.
  • Coordinate with technicians to convey customer vehicle issues accurately.
  • Ensure all services performed are explained clearly to customers post-service.
  • Maintain meticulous records of service and repair files for all vehicles.
  • Upsell additional products and services that benefit the customer’s experience.
  • Follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns.
  • Handle customer inquiries and provide timely, courteous assistance both in-person and over the phone.
  • Assist with resolving customer complaints with tact and professionalism.
  • Ensure consistent adherence to company and manufacturer repair and service guidelines.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in automotive technology are advantageous.
  • Proven work experience as a Service Advisor, or similar customer service role.
  • In-depth understanding of automotive technical processes and vehicle maintenance needs.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for interacting with customers and staff.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage numerous tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and experience with automotive dealership management software.
  • A customer-centric mindset with outstanding service delivery orientation.
