Job Description

The Service Advisor is a pivotal role in our automotive service team, acting as the bridge between our technicians and our esteemed clients. This position requires an individual who has a robust understanding of vehicle mechanics and excellent customer service skills. As a Service Advisor, you will be responsible for greeting customers, understanding their vehicle concerns, and ensuring their needs are conveyed accurately to the automotive technicians. You will provide clients with detailed explanations of work required and the associated costs, ensuring their experiences are seamless and satisfactory. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and always ready to provide exceptional service to every client.


Responsibilities

  • Greet customers as they arrive and gather detailed information on vehicle issues.
  • Maintain communication with customers to explain vehicle needs and repair processes.
  • Liaise between customers and technicians to accurately communicate vehicle concerns.
  • Provide clear and precise repair estimates based on technicians' evaluations.
  • Schedule appointments and ensure timely follow-ups on service progress or delays.
  • Coordinate with parts department to ensure availability of necessary vehicle parts.
  • Monitor status of vehicles undergoing maintenance and provide updates to clients.
  • Handle customer complaints with professionalism and resolve service-related issues promptly.
  • Ensure all service orders are documented thoroughly and accurately in the system.
  • Keep up-to-date with vehicle technical features and service protocols.
  • Conduct final vehicle inspections to ensure quality service delivery to customers.
  • Build loyal relationships with regular customers to foster repeat business.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; advanced degree is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a service advisor or customer-facing role.
  • Strong knowledge of automotive systems and terminology.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for customer interaction.
  • Ability to explain technical vehicle diagnoses and needed repairs to customers.
  • Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple client appointments efficiently.
  • Proficient in using automotive service software and computer systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced service environment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a customer-centric approach.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
