Job Description

We are seeking a highly competent Safety Officer to join our team. The role involves ensuring that safety protocols are maintained meticulously across our operations. The Safety Officer will be responsible for the development, implementation, and management of safety programs that are compliant with all applicable regulations. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures for the organization.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and inspections across all operational sites to ensure compliance.
  • Coordinate and lead safety training programs to educate employees on safety practices.
  • Monitor workplace operations to identify hazardous situations and intervene promptly.
  • Maintain meticulous records of safety-related incidents, inspections, and training sessions.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
  • Communicate effectively with management and workers regarding safety performance and issues.
  • Ensure that all safety equipment is regularly inspected and maintained according to standards.
  • Advise management on necessary improvements and updates to safety policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to local and national safety regulations.
  • Promote a culture of safety awareness and accountability among all employees and contractors.
  • Ensure emergency preparedness plans are in place and drills are conducted regularly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a Safety Officer or similar role.
  • Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs.
  • Strong leadership skills with an ability to influence safety culture positively.
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction with management and staff.
  • Certification in Safety Management or equivalent qualifications preferred.
