Job Description

The Receptionist position in the healthcare sector is an essential front-line role that ensures the smooth operation of a healthcare facility. Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients and visitors promptly and courteously.
  • Answer telephone calls and transfer them to the appropriate department or staff members.
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments using healthcare management software.
  • Ensure that all patient information is kept confidential and secure.
  • Maintain and update patient records with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Assist patients with completing necessary forms and documentation.
  • Handle administrative tasks such as filing, scanning, and photocopying documents.
  • Provide information to patients regarding healthcare services and procedures.
  • Coordinate with medical staff to ensure timely patient care and service delivery.
  • Manage the reception area to ensure it remains tidy and organized.
  • Respond to patient queries and direct them to the appropriate resources if necessary.
  • Process billing and payments, ensuring accurate and compliant transactions.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED; additional certification is a plus.
  • Prior experience as a receptionist in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a patient-focused approach.
  • Proficient in using healthcare management and scheduling software.
  • Ability to multitask and efficiently manage time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attentiveness to detail for accurate record-keeping.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to handle confidential patient information.
