Job Description

A Public Relations Manager is instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the public image of an organization. This role requires a dynamic professional adept at managing communication strategies that effectively engage various audiences. The Public Relations Manager develops and executes programs that align with the company's strategic objectives, leveraging media relations, social media, and other communication channels. By working closely with internal teams, this manager ensures that brand messages are consistent, compelling, and capitalized upon to foster positive relationships with stakeholders, including employees, investors, and the community. This position requires a practitioner with strong leadership skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a keen understanding of the industry trends and media landscape.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic public relations programs to align with company goals.
  • Manage media relations and develop effective relationships with key members of the press.
  • Create and oversee strategic communication plans to promote the brand’s image and reputation.
  • Coordinate and manage press conferences, media events, and public appearances.
  • Collaborate with marketing and executive teams to ensure consistent communication strategy.
  • Oversee crisis communication plans and act as the company spokesperson when necessary.
  • Analyze media coverage and propose improvements to enhance the company’s public image.
  • Utilize digital and social media platforms to expand outreach and increase brand visibility.
  • Draft, review, and distribute articles, press releases, and other materials as required.
  • Monitor industry trends and provide insight for strategic, proactive response plans.
  • Train and advise company representatives on communication strategies and public speaking.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community and industry representatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in public relations or communications roles.
  • Proven ability to manage crisis communication effectively and with composure.
  • Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with social media management and digital communication strategies.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain media relationships and networks.
  • Proficiency in public relations software and media databases is preferred.
