Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed research and analysis on various microorganisms and their behaviors.
• Design and execute experiments to study the effects of different variables on microbes.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret complex data sets from research experiments.
• Document research procedures, findings, and prepare detailed technical reports.
• Maintain and operate laboratory equipment following safety standards and protocols.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate microbiological expertise in projects.
• Stay updated with the latest scientific advances and their applications in microbiology.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and environmental guidelines in the laboratory.
• Train and mentor junior staff and interns in microbiological techniques and procedures.
• Manage the lab inventory, ensuring all materials and chemicals are properly stored.
• Present research findings at seminars, conferences, and to stakeholders as needed.
• Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant proposals for funding.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a closely related field required.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a research laboratory setting.
• Strong knowledge of microbiological testing and analysis techniques and protocols.
• Proficiency in using microbiological laboratory equipment and software applications.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to perform detailed data analysis.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, in English.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and with minimal supervision.
• Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards.
