The Lab Technician is responsible for ensuring that laboratory processes and procedures are performed with precision and accuracy to support critical scientific research and testing. The candidate will play a pivotal role in the maintenance of laboratory instruments and be involved in hands-on testing and data collection. The Lab Technician is also expected to adhere to established protocols to maintain a sterile and safe work environment, assist in the analysis of samples, and collaborate with other laboratory staff. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of safety and quality in laboratory work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment for use in various experiments and tests.
• Conduct routine and non-routine laboratory tests with precision and accuracy.
• Record and analyze data from tests and experiments, preparing detailed reports.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
• Assist in the inventory and procurement of laboratory supplies and materials.
• Calibrate laboratory instruments and troubleshoot any equipment malfunctions.
• Collaborate with team members to develop new testing methods and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation requirements and standards.
• Manage and dispose of hazardous waste in accordance with legal safety guidelines.
• Participate in training sessions and workshops to stay updated on new technologies.
• Prepare samples for analysis, ensuring proper labeling and documentation.
• Communicate effectively with scientists, engineers, and other technical staff.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, or a related scientific field.
• Minimum of two years experience in a laboratory or research setting.
• Strong understanding of laboratory safety protocols and hazardous waste management.
• Proficient in the use of laboratory equipment and software systems.
• Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for preparing reports.
