Job Description

As a Junior Sous Chef, you will play a vital role in our culinary team, assisting the head chef in day-to-day operations and catering to a diverse clientele. This position requires a candidate who is passionate about cooking, highly organized, and possesses excellent leadership skills. You will be instrumental in ensuring that our kitchen maintains its high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer satisfaction. You will also have the opportunity to work with fresh, high-quality ingredients and contribute to menu development. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Chef in planning and directing food preparation activities.
  • Oversee and coordinate the operations of kitchen staff and food service workers.
  • Ensure efficient management of food production and timely food delivery.
  • Maintain kitchen standards of hygiene, safety, and cleanliness at all times.
  • Supervise the culinary team to ensure food quality and presentation standards.
  • Participate in menu development by contributing creative ideas and suggestions.
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in cooking techniques and procedures.
  • Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies as needed.
  • Coordinate with the front-of-house staff to ensure swift service delivery.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen equipment to ensure proper functionality.
  • Assist in resolving any customer feedback or complaints efficiently.
  • Work closely with the Executive Chef to enhance the guest dining experience.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
  • Professional culinary certification or diploma from a recognized institution.
  • Strong knowledge of various cooking methods, ingredients, and culinary trends.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to succeed in a busy kitchen.
  • Proven ability to manage and lead a diverse culinary team effectively.
  • Good communication skills and ability to communicate well with staff and guests.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
