Job Description

The IT Support Assistant plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of an organization's IT infrastructure. As a member of the IT team, you will provide technical support and troubleshooting to resolve issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware. You will work closely with staff to enhance the user experience, addressing technical inquiries and assisting with system updates and installations. This position demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical users alike. Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to employees experiencing IT issues.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems and escalate as needed.
  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems.
  • Maintain an inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
  • Ensure all IT support calls and issues are logged in the ticketing system.
  • Provide support for IT-related projects and initiatives as required.
  • Assist in the setup and support of audiovisual equipment for events.
  • Deliver training and guidance to staff on IT systems and software use.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop solutions to recurring problems.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest technology trends and improvements.
  • Maintain good relationships with clients by providing support in a timely manner.
  • Ensure data integrity and cybersecurity protocols are followed strictly.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Experience in an IT support or related role preferred by employers.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Mac operating systems required.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail necessary.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for success.
  • Customer service orientation with a focus on responding effectively to users.
  • Familiarity with network setups, configurations, and troubleshooting tools.
  • Experience using ticketing systems to track and resolve IT requests beneficial.
  • A+ or similar certification preferred but not mandatory for consideration.
