Job Description

The IT Support Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of technology within an organization. This professional is responsible for providing practical support services for computer systems, hardware, and software issues that employees may encounter. The IT Support Assistant often serves as the first point of contact for internal technical issues and works diligently to resolve problems promptly. This position requires excellent communication skills, a solid understanding of various IT components, and the ability to troubleshoot effectively. With the growing dependency on technology, IT Support Assistants are crucial in maintaining operational efficiency and facilitating the seamless execution of tasks within the company.


Responsibilities

  • Respond to user inquiries regarding system functionality and software compatibility.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues in a timely manner.
  • Install, configure, and upgrade PC hardware and software as needed.
  • Maintain an organized log of all support requests and resolutions.
  • Assist in the administration and maintenance of IT infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT team members to enhance overall system performance.
  • Provide training and assistance to staff on new systems and applications.
  • Monitor and respond quickly to incoming requests in the help desk queue.
  • Ensure the security of IT systems by applying the necessary updates and patches.
  • Assist with the setup and support of audiovisual equipment for meetings.
  • Document processes and procedures for routine IT support tasks.
  • Participate in continuous improvement activities for support services.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in an IT support or Help Desk role required.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication with end-users.
  • Working knowledge of common operating systems like Windows and MacOS.
  • Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Capability to follow IT protocols and adhere to company security policies.
