Job Description

An IT Support Specialist plays a critical role in maintaining the operations of an organization’s technology infrastructure. This role involves troubleshooting, providing tech support, and maintaining both hardware and software across the entire organization. The IT Support Specialist will be expected to assist with help desk queries, manage IT equipment, and support users in resolving their technical issues. Additionally, this position requires strong communication skills as the specialist will frequently interact with users to identify and address various IT problems. The ability to work under pressure and strong problem-solving skills will be advantageous. Ensuring customer satisfaction and maintaining a high level of service for all technical queries are key objectives in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support and resolve computer hardware and software issues.
  • Manage installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of computers, printers, and networking equipment.
  • Respond to help desk requests promptly to maintain department SLAs and ensure user satisfaction.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on IT equipment to extend operational life and efficiency.
  • Set up new workstations with necessary software and hardware for new employees.
  • Coordinate with vendors for repairs and necessary maintenance of specialized systems.
  • Document all technical support activities and update help desk tickets systematically.
  • Monitor and maintain network systems to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of IT support policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate with IT team members to improve and update organizational IT resources.
  • Conduct training sessions for users on various software applications and technical best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with company security policies when accessing and maintaining systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in an IT support role, preferably in a diverse organizational setting.
  • Excellent understanding of computer systems, networks, and software applications.
  • Familiarity with common operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Strong diagnostic skills to identify and solve technical issues efficiently.
  • Exceptional communication skills for effective interaction with non-technical users.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and handle stressful situations professionally.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate are advantageous.
