Job Description

The Import & Export Executive in the Chemical Industry will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing all aspects of importing and exporting chemical products. This position requires in-depth knowledge of international trade regulations, logistics coordination, and compliance with safety standards within the chemical sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient movement of products across international borders, maintaining up-to-date documentation, and coordinating with suppliers, customers, and third-party logistics providers. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to adapt to changing regulations are essential. You must also have a solid understanding of the chemical industry and the specific challenges involved in handling and shipping hazardous materials.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the entire import and export process for chemical products.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and safety standards.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and customers to ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Prepare and manage all necessary shipping documentation and customs clearance forms.
  • Communicate with third-party logistics providers to optimize transportation efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate shipping routes to minimize delays and reduce costs.
  • Stay updated with changes in trade policies, tariffs, and duties for chemicals.
  • Ensure proper labeling and packaging of hazardous materials as per regulations.
  • Address and resolve any import/export issues or disputes that may arise.
  • Work closely with internal teams to forecast demand and manage inventory levels.
  • Develop and implement strategies to expand the company's international markets.
  • Conduct risk assessments for potential impacts on the supply chain logistics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, International Trade, Logistics, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in import and export operations within the chemical sector.
  • Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills with great attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and logistics providers.
  • Experience in handling and shipping hazardous materials is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with trade management software.
