Job Description

A Housekeeping Executive plays a pivotal role in maintaining the cleanliness and aesthetic appeal of a facility. Typically found in hospitality sectors such as hotels and resorts, this position requires a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring each guest has a flawless experience regarding their accommodation’s upkeep. The Housekeeping Executive is responsible for overseeing the overall cleanliness of the establishment, managing housekeeping staff, and ensuring all cleaning protocols are up to an exceptional standard. They must also lead the team in implementing efficient cleaning schedules, handle inventory control for housekeeping supplies, and liaise with different departments to meet the guests' needs promptly. With a mixture of hands-on cleaning tasks and administrative responsibilities, this role is ideal for individuals who thrive in dynamic and high-standard environments.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure all areas of the facility are clean and well-maintained at all times.
  • Supervise housekeeping staff and provide training and guidance as needed.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules to maintain facility cleanliness consistently.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure high standards of cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Manage inventory and order cleaning supplies as needed to avoid shortages.
  • Coordinate with other departments to efficiently address and fulfil guest requests.
  • Maintain and enforce the use of safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping efficiently and effectively.
  • Compile reports on housekeeping performance and report to management regularly.
  • Ensure proper laundering and handling of all linens and uniforms as required.
  • Implement environmentally friendly cleaning practices and encourage sustainable methods.
  • Keep abreast with industry trends to enhance the housekeeping service standards.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further certification in hospitality management is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping role, with at least two years in a supervisory capacity.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills are essential.
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership skills to manage a diverse team.
  • Proficient in using cleaning equipment and various cleaning and sanitizing products.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with staff and guests effectively.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
