Job Description

A Guest Service Associate in the Food & Beverage department plays a crucial role in ensuring that guests have an enjoyable dining experience. This position requires an individual who is passionate about customer service and has a keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be personable, efficient, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Guest Service Associates are responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, serving food and beverages, and providing excellent service to enhance the overall guest experience. They serve as a bridge between the kitchen and the dining area, ensuring orders are accurate and delivered promptly. This role demands flexibility, great communication skills, and the ability to handle various tasks simultaneously to maintain a smooth operation and meet guest expectations.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome guests promptly and warmly as they enter the venue.
  • Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen staff.
  • Serve food and drinks to guests in a polite and timely manner.
  • Ensure all guests’ needs are met and provide additional assistance as required.
  • Upsell additional menu items and beverage offerings to enhance guest experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the dining and service areas.
  • Process payments and manage cash registers with accuracy and responsibility.
  • Respond to guest inquiries regarding menu items and special dietary needs.
  • Handle and resolve guest complaints in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff and management to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare dining areas before and after service to ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Participate in training sessions and staff meetings to stay informed and skilled.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; hospitality experience preferred.
  • Proven customer service skills in a similar hospitality role are advantageous.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and ability to interact positively with guests.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for accuracy in orders.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic math skills to handle payments and POS transactions confidently.
