Job Description

As a Front Desk Clerk, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, ensuring they feel welcome and valued from the moment they arrive. Your role is pivotal in creating a positive impression of our establishment by delivering excellent customer service with a friendly and professional demeanor. You will manage all front desk activities, including check-ins, check-outs, reservations, and responding to guests' inquiries both in person and via phone and email. As a part of our front-line team, you are expected to uphold our high standards of hospitality and attention to detail while assisting in smooth day-to-day operations.


Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival with a welcoming and friendly demeanor.
  • Manage guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently using hotel software.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and resolve their issues amicably.
  • Maintain an organized front desk and ensure it is presentable at all times.
  • Process reservations, cancellations, and modifications accurately and efficiently.
  • Handle cash, credit card, and electronic payments responsibly and securely.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance to fulfill guest requests promptly.
  • Provide guests with information about local attractions and services offered by the hotel.
  • Conduct regular verification of guest details for compliance with hotel policies.
  • Monitor lobby activities to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and staff.
  • Prepare daily reports and communicate vital information to relevant departments.
  • Assist in training new front desk employees and contributing to team efforts.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education is a plus.
  • Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably in a hotel.
  • Proficiency with computers and hotel management software systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks while maintaining high service standards.
  • Excellent organizational skills with keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including weekends and holidays.
  • Friendly and approachable personality with a team-oriented mindset.
  • Problem-solving skills to effectively handle guest issues and concerns.
