Job Description

A Front Desk Clerk plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the front office, typically in a hotel, lodge, or a similar establishment. They are the first point of contact for guests and visitors, providing a welcoming experience that sets the tone for their stay. As a Front Desk Clerk, you will be responsible for managing check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, and addressing guests' inquiries promptly. Responsibilities

  • Greet guests upon arrival and provide them with excellent front desk service.

  • Assist guests with room bookings and provide information about room rates.
  • Resolve guest complaints promptly and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Take reservations over the phone, via email, or in person with precision.
  • Maintain clean and orderly front desk and lobby area at all times.
  • Process guest payments and verify credit card transactions correctly.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to fulfill guest requests.
  • Keep accurate records of guest information, bookings, and payments.
  • Provide information about amenities, local attractions, and transportation options.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth operation and guest satisfaction.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification in a related field required.
  • Prior experience in customer service or hospitality industry is preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for this role.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including MS Office and booking systems.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time efficiently in a busy environment.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
