Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Desktop Support Engineer to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical support to end-users, ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, and maintaining an optimal working environment. This role demands strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with non-technical users. The Desktop Support Engineer will troubleshoot hardware and software issues, perform installations and configurations, and support the organization's network and security infrastructure. Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop computers, peripherals, and software.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems by analyzing the user's issues.
  • Ensure the smooth functioning of company-wide IT infrastructure and resources.
  • Assist with the maintenance and updating of existing software and programs.
  • Manage user accounts, passwords, and access rights in accordance with protocols.
  • Coordinate with external vendors and service providers for specialized repairs.
  • Utilize ticketing systems to track and resolve issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on hardware and software operation.
  • Document procedures, configurations, and system changes for future reference.
  • Collaborate with the IT team to implement new technologies and upgrades.
  • Monitor system performance and conduct regular checks to ensure reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of two years' experience in desktop or technical support roles.
  • Proficiency with Windows, macOS, and various office productivity software.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to technical details.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
  • Experience with network configurations, including LAN and WAN setups.
  • Possess relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or similar.
