Job Description

As a Dental Assistant, you play a pivotal role in ensuring efficient dental care delivery and patient satisfaction in the clinic. Your primary duties involve assisting dentists during procedures, preparing treatment areas, and ensuring that all tools and materials are clean and ready for use. You will also engage with patients, setting them at ease before procedures and assisting them throughout their dental visit. This position requires an individual with excellent interpersonal skills, detail-oriented work habits, and a passion for patient care. As part of our dedicated team, you will be expected to maintain a clean and organized environment, contribute to patient education, and manage administrative tasks as needed.


Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during dental procedures, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.
  • Prepare patients by providing information and reassurance before treatments.
  • Maintain cleanliness of dental equipment and exam rooms between patient appointments.
  • Ensure that all dental instruments are sterilized following clinic protocols.
  • Organize and restock necessary materials and supplies in the treatment areas.
  • Carry out administrative duties such as scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  • Help prepare and mix dental compounds such as filing materials and dental cements.
  • Take dental X-rays as directed by dentists, ensuring patient safety standards.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
  • Provide chair-side assistance during complex dental procedures and oral surgeries.
  • Manage the flow of patients in and out of the treatment areas efficiently.
  • Support the dental team in maintaining a high standard of patient service and care.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent educational certification required.
  • Completion of an accredited Dental Assistant program is highly preferred.
  • Valid state-level certification for dental radiography is mandatory.
  • Previous experience working in a dental practice or clinic is beneficial.
  • Proficiency in dental software programs like Dentrix or Eaglesoft is advantageous.
  • Exceptional communication skills to effectively interact with patients and team members.
  • Strong organizational skills to manage tasks in a fast-paced environment.
