Job Description

As a CCTV Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the security and safety of various facilities through the installation, maintenance, and repair of closed-circuit television systems. Your technical expertise will be essential in configuring and optimizing surveillance equipment to its fullest potential to provide comprehensive monitoring for crime prevention and evidence collection. This role demands a high level of precision, attention to detail, and technical acumen to effectively troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise with the CCTV systems. You will collaborate with security teams and property management to customize surveillance needs according to specific security requirements, ensuring that all locations under your supervision remain protected at all times. Your contribution is crucial in reducing crime rates and increasing the overall sense of security within the serviced environments.


Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain CCTV systems across various client sites.
  • Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on CCTV equipment.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to CCTV operations efficiently.
  • Collaborate with security personnel to design customized surveillance solutions.
  • Ensure all installations and maintenance comply with security regulations and standards.
  • Document and report maintenance activities and issues to management promptly.
  • Program and configure NVRs, DVRs, and IP cameras for optimal functionality.
  • Conduct tests and evaluations of new CCTV products and technologies.
  • Provide training and guidance to clients on the proper use of surveillance systems.
  • Keep up-to-date with the latest advancements in CCTV technologies and trends.
  • Assist in assessing security vulnerabilities and suggesting improvements.
  • Respond to emergency call-outs and repair CCTV systems in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in installing and maintaining CCTV systems effectively.
  • Solid understanding of electrical systems, networking, and CCTV technology.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot CCTV equipment efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and team members.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Knowledge of local and federal laws regarding surveillance activities.
