Responsibilities

• Operate cash registers to process and record sales transactions accurately.
• Handle cash, credit, and debit card transactions with integrity and transparency.
• Provide excellent customer service by engaging and assisting customers promptly.
• Resolve customer complaints and answer questions about products and services.
• Maintain a clean and orderly checkout area and store front.
• Balance the cash register at the start and end of each shift without discrepancies.
• Inform customers about current promotions and discounts to encourage sales.
• Assist with stocking shelves and organizing products as required.
• Follow store policies and procedures for security and loss prevention.
• Participate in store meetings and training sessions to enhance job knowledge.
• Collaborate effectively with team members to ensure efficient workflow.
• Replenish register supplies, including bags, receipt paper, and coins.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred for this position.
• Proven experience as a cashier or in a customer service role is desirable.
• Strong attention to detail with the capability to perform basic math calculations.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and coworkers.
• Capability to stand and walk for extended periods during shifts.
• Ability to multitask and handle fast-paced work environments efficiently.
• Familiarity with electronic equipment, like cash registers and POS systems.
