Responsibilities

• Conduct electrocardiogram (ECG) tests to measure heart electrical activity accurately.
• Assist in stress tests to evaluate patients' cardiovascular performance under physical stress.
• Operate and maintain all electrocardiograph and other cardiac testing equipment safely.
• Monitor patients’ heart rates during different diagnostic procedures for abnormalities.
• Record patient data and test results, ensuring complete and accurate documentation.
• Prepare and position patients, explaining procedures to ensure full understanding and comfort.
• Work closely with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret test results.
• Provide emergency cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) in cases of cardiac arrest situations.
• Assist in catheterization laboratory procedures and other invasive cardiac monitoring techniques.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information, adhering to healthcare ethical standards.
• Keep updated with the latest developments and techniques in the field of cardiology.
• Ensure equipment is clean, sterilized, and properly functioning before conducting tests.

Requirements

• Associate degree in cardiovascular technology or a related field is required.
• Certification as a Certified Cardiographic Technician (CCT) is preferred or willingness to obtain.
• Previous experience working as a cardiac technician in a healthcare setting is beneficial.
• Proficient knowledge of cardiac anatomy, physiology, and pathology to conduct accurate tests.
• Excellent attention to detail to ensure precision in test results and equipment handling.
• Strong communication skills to explain procedures clearly and compassionately to patients.
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-pressure emergency situations.
