Job Description

The role of an Assistant Store Manager involves supporting the store manager in the overall operation of the store. This is a hands-on position that requires excellent leadership, a knack for problem-solving, and exceptional customer service skills. The assistant store manager is responsible for ensuring that the store runs smoothly and efficiently by supervising staff, managing inventory, and maintaining the store's visual appearance. This dynamic position requires both strategic and creative thinking to meet sales targets and deliver an excellent shopping experience. Responsibilities

  • Assist the store manager in daily operational duties to ensure seamless functionality.
  • Maintain optimal staffing levels by hiring, training, and supervising store staff effectively.
  • Implement sales strategies to achieve financial goals and increase revenue.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards to uphold the store's aesthetic appeal.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure product availability.
  • Address and resolve customer complaints, providing excellent customer service consistently.
  • Ensure the store complies with health, safety, and company regulations at all times.
  • Prepare and analyze sales reports to identify business opportunities and performance trends.
  • Oversee and enforce cash handling procedures to ensure financial security and accuracy.
  • Foster a positive working environment by motivating staff and resolving conflicts promptly.
  • Assist in planning promotional events to attract and retain customers effectively.
  • Evaluate employee performance, providing necessary feedback, coaching, and mentoring.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in business management is advantageous.
  • Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably as an assistant manager.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team effectively.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a passion for enhancing the shopping experience.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and capable of making quick, informed decisions.
  • Firm understanding of retail metrics and the ability to analyze sales data proficiently.
  • A detail-oriented approach to manage inventory effectively and maintain store standards.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
