Job Description

A Telesales Representative is a professional who is responsible for engaging potential and existing customers over the phone to promote, sell, and support products and services. This role requires excellent communication skills, a persuasive nature, and a result-driven mindset. The Telesales Representative plays a vital part in generating leads and securing sales, contributing significantly to the company's revenue. They must possess the ability to quickly build rapport with callers, understand their needs, and provide solutions tailored to enhance customer satisfaction. Success in this position is measured by the volume of sales closed, customer retention rates, and the ability to improve the overall sales process.


Responsibilities

  • Contact potential or existing customers to inform them about products or services.
  • Answer questions about products, services, and the company with accurate information.
  • Ask probing questions to understand customer requirements and close sales effectively.
  • Keep detailed records of calls, sales, and note useful information in the database.
  • Update customer information in the database and maintain contact lists.
  • Handle customer grievances to preserve the company’s reputation and resolve issues.
  • Meet or exceed sales targets and call handling quotas set by the management.
  • Go the “extra mile” to meet sales metrics and facilitate future sales opportunities.
  • Follow up on leads and conduct research to identify potential prospects.
  • Establish and maintain positive business and customer relationships for networking.
  • Participate in team meetings and training to improve product knowledge and sales capabilities.
  • Collaborate with team members to share best practices and strategies for success.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Telesales Representative or in a similar sales role.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for handling different clients.
  • Ability to learn about products and services and describe/explain them to prospects.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to resolve issues and address complaints effectively.
  • Results-driven with a proven track record of meeting sales targets and quotas.
  • Familiarity with CRM software and maintaining comprehensive and accurate records.
  • High school diploma; a Bachelor’s degree is considered an asset.
