As a Store Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of our retail establishment. You will serve as the first point of contact for our customers, providing them with a positive shopping experience through excellent customer service and a thorough knowledge of our products. The ideal candidate will be reliable, organized, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. You will also be responsible for maintaining inventory levels, assisting in merchandising displays, and ensuring the overall cleanliness of the store. This role is essential in supporting our store team and contributing to our store's success by enhancing customer satisfaction and achieving sales targets.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and ascertain their individual shopping needs promptly.
• Assist customers in locating specific items and answering their product-related queries.
• Maintain a clean and organized store environment, ensuring aisles are free of clutter.
• Perform cashier duties by efficiently processing customer transactions and handling cash.
• Replenish inventory on the sales floor and ensure product displays are attractive.
• Support the store management in implementing promotional campaigns and sales events.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate with management regarding any inventory shortages.
• Assist in the receiving and unpacking of new shipments and conducting inventory checks.
• Follow and enforce company policies, including safety and security protocols diligently.
• Handle customer complaints with politeness and escalate complex issues to management.
• Participate in team meetings and share feedback to improve customer service standards.
• Stay updated with product knowledge to provide accurate information to customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
• Previous retail or customer service experience will be an added advantage.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with a customer-oriented attitude.
• Basic math skills are necessary for performing cashier duties effectively.
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during store hours.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Proficiency in using point of sale (POS) systems and handling cash transactions.
