Job Description

The Store Assistant is a crucial part of our retail team, dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and supporting the day-to-day operations of the store. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about retail, with a strong desire to ensure customer satisfaction and efficiency in service. The Store Assistant will be responsible for assisting customers, maintaining stock levels, and supporting the store management team in achieving sales targets. Success in this position requires a proactive individual with excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic retail environment. The candidate must also be able to handle cash transactions, manage store displays, and ensure a clean and organized shopping area, delivering an outstanding shopping experience to each customer.


Responsibilities

  • Assist customers with queries and provide information on product features and benefits.
  • Maintain the visual presentation of store merchandise by restocking and organizing displays.
  • Operate cash registers and process transactions efficiently and accurately at all times.
  • Support the store management team in meeting and exceeding sales goals and objectives.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and assist with inventory management and control.
  • Ensure that the store is clean, safe, and welcoming to customers at all times.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve customer service and enhance team productivity.
  • Receive deliveries, unpack merchandise, and verify accuracy of shipments against purchase orders.
  • Handle customer complaints and returns with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Implement store policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency and security.
  • Participate in team meetings and provide constructive feedback and suggestions for improvements.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends and products in the industry to better assist customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous retail or customer service experience is highly preferred.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanor.
  • Strong multitasking skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and making change accurately.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks in a retail setting.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
