Job Description

We are seeking a friendly and enthusiastic Shop Assistant to join our dedicated team at a renowned lighting store. As a Shop Assistant, you will play a key role in ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and expert guidance on our diverse range of lighting products. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting customers with their purchases, maintaining product displays, and supporting other team members in achieving sales targets. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in interior design, excellent communication skills, and a proactive attitude towards learning about our product offerings. Responsibilities

  • Assist customers in selecting suitable lighting products for their needs.
  • Provide detailed product information and advice to customers effectively.
  • Ensure product displays are neat, tidy, and visually appealing at all times.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and report any discrepancies promptly.
  • Support team members in meeting and exceeding store sales targets.
  • Manage and handle customer enquiries and resolve any complaints professionally.
  • Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using the point of sale system.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workplace, including the sales floor and storage areas.
  • Assist with merchandising and placing new products on the shop floor when required.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and execute sales promotions and events.
  • Stay updated with the latest lighting trends and new product releases.
  • Attend training sessions and workshops to enhance product knowledge regularly.

Requirements

  • Previous retail experience, preferably in a home or lighting store environment.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented approach to service.
  • Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced retail setting.
  • Basic knowledge of lighting products and interior design trends is advantageous.
  • Proficient in using computers and retail point of sale systems for transactions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to handle customer complaints promptly.
  • Flexible availability, including weekends and public holidays as required.
