Job Description

A Radiologist is a specialized medical doctor responsible for diagnosing and treating diseases and injuries using medical imaging techniques, such as X-rays, computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, and positron emission tomography (PET). In this critical clinical role, radiologists provide crucial insights that aid in the effective diagnosis and treatment of patients. A Radiologist works closely with other specialists and medical professionals to interpret imaging results and contribute to comprehensive patient care plans. Responsibilities

  • Interpret medical images to diagnose injuries and diseases with high accuracy.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to determine correct diagnoses and treatments.
  • Conduct and supervise medical imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety at all times.
  • Stay updated on the latest medical imaging technologies and advancements in the field.
  • Explain imaging procedures and results to patients and answer any questions they may have.
  • Maintain patient records and document diagnostic reports accurately for each case.
  • Ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards during imaging processes.
  • Implement and oversee radiological policies and protocols within the department.
  • Monitor and maintain imaging equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Advise on the necessity and type of film or digital imaging studies needed for diagnosis.
  • Assist in the training and supervision of medical students or radiologic technologists.
  • Engage in professional development opportunities and continuous education programs.

Requirements

  • Medical degree with specialization in radiology from an accredited institution.
  • At least three years of experience in a clinical radiology position.
  • Proficient in using a variety of imaging techniques, such as MRI, CT, and X-ray.
  • Strong analytical skills to accurately interpret medical images and findings.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and quality care standards.
