Job Description

As a Procurement Officer, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the purchasing of goods and services for our organization. You will ensure that we procure high-quality materials at the most competitive prices, while also managing the complexities of supplier relationships and contract negotiations. Your role will be crucial in maintaining the supply chain's efficiency, ensuring timely deliveries, and guaranteeing that procurement processes align with company standards. Your strategic insights will contribute to cost reductions and operational improvements. You will collaborate with various departments to forecast demand, and you must be adept at maintaining accurate procurement records to comply with regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives.
  • Analyze and forecast procurement needs based on project requirements and trends.
  • Conduct thorough market research to identify potential suppliers and assess their capabilities.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Manage the procurement process from requisition to order and delivery tracking.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and legal requirements during the procurement process.
  • Monitor inventory levels to maintain a balance between adequate supply and minimized waste.
  • Prepare and analyze procurement reports to provide insights into spending and savings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline purchasing and supply chain activities.
  • Resolve disputes related to quality, delivery, or pricing issues with suppliers promptly.
  • Train and mentor new procurement staff on standard practices and company policies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a procurement role within a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence decision-making.
  • Excellent analytical abilities with attention to detail for comprehensive costs analysis.
  • Proficient in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite for documentation purposes.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for supplier and stakeholder interactions.
  • Familiarity with relevant procurement regulations and compliance standards.
