The Payroll Executive plays a critical role in the finance and human resources departments by ensuring that employees are paid accurately and on time. Responsibilities

  • Process employee payroll payments accurately and within set deadlines.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records and information regularly.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for internal and external audits.
  • Address and resolve payroll discrepancies and inquiries from employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance departments for coordinated payroll efforts.
  • Calculate taxes and deductions, ensuring correct amounts are withheld.
  • Manage direct deposit information and changes as per employee requests.
  • Stay updated with new wage legislation and amend payroll processes accordingly.
  • Assist in year-end activities like preparing W-2s and tax filings.
  • Provide training to junior staff related to payroll processes and compliance.
  • Support the implementation of new payroll systems or software enhancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Payroll Executive or in a similar payroll position.
  • Comprehensive understanding of payroll processes and related regulations.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paychex) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills are essential.
  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and compliance.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with utmost discretion and integrity.
  • Effective communication skills for collaborating with different departments.
