Job Description

The role of a Payroll Executive is pivotal in ensuring that employees are compensated accurately and in a timely manner. A Payroll Executive manages and oversees a company's payroll functions, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and standards. They are responsible for maintaining payroll systems, preparing reports, and resolving any payroll-related issues that may arise. They may work closely with HR departments, finance teams, and external vendors to ensure seamless payroll operations. An ideal candidate must possess a solid understanding of payroll principles, possess excellent attention to detail, and have strong analytical skills. This role is vital to maintaining employee satisfaction and ensuring the financial integrity of payroll processes within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Process payroll for all employees accurately and on time every pay period.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal payroll and reporting regulations.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records with precision and confidentiality.
  • Manage the administration of pay and benefits programs for all employees.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure accurate payroll processing.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies for employees efficiently and effectively.
  • Prepare and distribute payroll reports for management and external stakeholders.
  • Conduct periodic audits of payroll procedures and records for accuracy and compliance.
  • Coordinate with external vendors to facilitate payroll processing and benefit administration.
  • Manage employee questions regarding pay, deductions, and other payroll-related inquiries.
  • Maintain knowledge of current payroll trends and changes in payroll regulations.
  • Assist with year-end tax filing processes, including W-2 generation and distribution.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, human resources, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll processing and related tasks.
  • Proficiency in payroll software systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong understanding of federal and state payroll taxes and regulations.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills required.
  • Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with different departments.
