As an IT Support Engineer, you play a pivotal role in maintaining the technical framework of everyday operations within a company. You are the backbone of the organization's IT department, tasked with resolving intricate technical issues and ensuring that the daily technological functions flow seamlessly across the organization. Your role not only requires a profound understanding of IT systems and networks but also demands excellent customer service skills as you'll often be interfacing with non-technical employees needing assistance. Your expertise will directly contribute to the efficiency and productivity of the company by supporting various IT systems, understanding users' needs, and proactively acting to avoid disruption of business processes. This position requires a commitment to staying current with evolving technologies and industry practices to help streamline the company’s IT services. A successful IT Support Engineer is versatile, proactive, and knowledgeable, constantly adapting to the fast-paced changes characteristic of today's IT environment.


Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support to users experiencing issues with computer systems and hardware.
  • Install, configure, and maintain software and hardware components for end-users.
  • Diagnose hardware and software problems through a structured approach to identify solutions.
  • Document support procedures and solutions to enhance future troubleshooting and support services.
  • Manage user accounts and permissions within various software systems and applications.
  • Monitor and maintain the integrity and performance of organizational IT infrastructure.
  • Liaise with other IT professionals and stakeholders to develop more effective systems and processes.
  • Conduct regular upgrades and maintenance checks as part of preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Ensure the security and privacy of networks and computer systems following best practices.
  • Respond to support requests via phone, email, or in-person within established timeframes.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to deploy new software updates and patches efficiently.
  • Provide training and support to users on new technology implementations and changes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in a technical support or IT support engineering role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer systems, networks, and application troubleshooting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to finding solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in every task undertaken.
