The IT Project Manager - Hardware is a critical role, overseeing and coordinating hardware-related projects within an organization. This position is essential for ensuring that hardware components are integrated effectively into the IT infrastructure, aligning with business goals and strategies. The role requires detailed planning, execution, and management of hardware projects from inception to completion, while aligning resources with project targets. It involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including IT architects, hardware engineers, vendors, and stakeholders to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget. The IT Project Manager should possess strong leadership skills, a keen eye for detail, technical proficiency, and the ability to facilitate clear communication among teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and manage comprehensive project plans for hardware projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to allocate resources and define project scope.
• Oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, ensuring timely delivery and quality standards.
• Conduct risk assessments and propose mitigation strategies to minimize project impact.
• Monitor project progress and performance, using metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
• Maintain communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project status and modifications.
• Ensure compliance with best practices, methodologies, and quality assurance standards.
• Support project acquisition processes by preparing proposals, budgets, and schedules.
• Identify and address potential obstacles and conflicts within project teams promptly.
• Mentor and lead project teams, fostering an environment of collaboration and accountability.
• Liaise with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of necessary hardware components.
• Facilitate post-project evaluations, documenting lessons learned and recommended adjustments for future initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience managing IT hardware projects.
• Proficiency in project management software and hardware lifecycle management.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, across diverse audiences.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in high-pressure scenarios.
• Proven track record of leading projects to successful completion within time and budget constraints.
• Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
