Job Description

The IT Operations & Support Engineer is a pivotal role within the organization's technology team, dedicated to ensuring the smooth execution and support of IT operations. This position requires a keen understanding of network management, hardware and software troubleshooting, and user support. The chosen candidate will work closely with technology stakeholders to implement new systems, resolve IT issues, and provide ongoing maintenance across various technology platforms. The IT Operations & Support Engineer must be adept at managing multiple tasks, communicating effectively with team members and end-users, and maintaining up-to-date documentation of IT processes and resolutions.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day IT operations and ensure optimal functionality and performance.
  • Provide technical support to internal teams and resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Manage and monitor network infrastructure, including servers, routers, and switches.
  • Implement and maintain security protocols to safeguard company data and systems.
  • Coordinate with vendors for the procurement and maintenance of IT equipment.
  • Conduct regular system audits and generate reports to assess IT health and compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategies for improving IT infrastructure and operations.
  • Assist in the planning and deployment of new technology projects and upgrades.
  • Train and mentor junior IT staff and enhance team capabilities and performance.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of IT systems, configurations, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to address their technology needs and challenges.
  • Stay informed about emerging technology trends and best practices in IT operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in IT operations or technical support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of network management and security practices and protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with hardware and software troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities effectively.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or equivalent are highly preferred.
