Job Description

The Field IT Support Engineer is a vital role in ensuring our technological infrastructure runs smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a highly skilled professional who can provide comprehensive on-site support and maintenance for all IT systems, ensuring the seamless operation of computer networks, hardware, and software. The Field IT Support Engineer will work closely with IT teams and end-users to solve technical issues, optimize system performance, and implement IT solutions tailored to organizational needs. This role demands excellent problem-solving capabilities, an aptitude for understanding complex IT environments, and the ability to work independently across various locations. Strong communication skills are essential for interacting with multiple teams and users to ensure a high level of service delivery.


Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and effective on-site technical support to resolve IT-related issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems.
  • Conduct routine maintenance and system upgrades to ensure optimal performance.
  • Manage user accounts and access permissions to uphold data security protocols.
  • Document and track support requests and resolutions in the ticketing system.
  • Educate and guide end-users on efficient use of IT resources and applications.
  • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery operations on critical systems.
  • Assist in the implementation and rollout of new technologies and IT policies.
  • Perform site surveys to evaluate IT infrastructure and recommend improvements.
  • Provide emergency on-call support during non-business hours as needed.
  • Maintain an up-to-date inventory of all hardware and software assets.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in IT support, with a focus on hardware and network troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux platforms.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure independently.
  • Capability to lift and transport IT equipment to different job sites as required.
  • Outstanding communication skills for effectively interacting with diverse teams and users.
  • Willingness to travel to various locations to provide on-site support services.
