The Fashion Design Faculty position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and passionate educator to mentor the next generation of fashion designers. This role involves teaching and developing course materials for various fashion design subjects, including textile innovation, sustainable fashion, and digital design techniques. Additionally, contributing to curriculum development, research projects, and academic advising will be key components of this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver engaging and comprehensive fashion design course materials.
• Evaluate and critique student work, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
• Stay current with industry trends and integrate them into teaching practices.
• Facilitate classroom discussions and activities to foster critical thinking in students.
• Mentor and advise students on academic and career development matters.
• Collaborate with fellow faculty for continuous improvement of the fashion design curriculum.
• Organize and participate in faculty meetings and industry conferences.
• Maintain a professional and nurturing classroom environment conducive to learning.
• Engage in research and publication in fashion design-related topics.
• Contribute to the accreditation processes and program assessments.
• Develop partnerships with fashion industry stakeholders for student internships.
• Coordinate fashion shows or events that showcase student work and innovation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a closely related field is required.
• Master’s degree or higher in Fashion Design or a related discipline preferred.
• Minimum of three years of professional experience in the fashion design industry.
• Previous teaching experience at the college or university level is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to motivate and inspire students.
• Proficiency in digital design software tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
• Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and promoting diversity.
