Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled English Stenographer to join our team and provide exceptional stenographic services. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent command over the English language, including grammar and spelling, along with a keen eye for detail. The English Stenographer will be responsible for transcribing spoken words into text quickly and accurately during legal proceedings, meetings, and other events. Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role. The candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring accurate documentation of important communications and serve as a vital asset in legal and business settings.


Responsibilities

  • Capture spoken words and audio into written English text accurately and swiftly.
  • Transcribe meetings, legal proceedings, and conferences with utmost precision.
  • Maintain a comprehensive and organized system for all transcriptions and notes.
  • Edit and proofread stenographic notes for grammatical and spelling errors routinely.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure clarity and accuracy of documents.
  • Ensure all transcriptions meet required standards and confidentiality guidelines.
  • Manage time efficiently to accommodate multiple transcription assignments daily.
  • Stay updated with relevant stenographic technologies and transcription software.
  • Assist in training junior stenographers if and when the situation arises.
  • Preserve and archive older records while ensuring their ease of accessibility.
  • Support legal and business teams with efficient document preparation and management.
  • Handle special requests for customized transcriptions and deadline-driven tasks.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an English Stenographer or similar transcription role.
  • Excellent command of English language, grammar, and technical vocabulary.
  • Proficiency in shorthand and stenography techniques is absolutely essential.
  • Advanced typing skills with careful attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Competency with various transcription software and relevant digital tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments under tight schedules.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills for effective collaboration.
