Job Description

As a Dental Receptionist at our esteemed dental practice, you will be the first point of contact for patients, playing a pivotal role in creating a welcoming and efficient environment. Your primary responsibility will be to greet patients, manage appointments, and facilitate communication between patients and dental professionals. You will handle administrative tasks, maintain patient records, and ensure that the daily operations of the dental office run smoothly. In this role, you will be required to demonstrate excellent customer service skills and a keen attention to detail, as well as possess a thorough understanding of dental office procedures and patient management systems. Responsibilities

  • Warmly greet patients as they arrive and ensure a friendly experience.
  • Efficiently manage and schedule patient appointments to optimize dental resources.
  • Field incoming phone calls, answer inquiries, and direct calls accordingly.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and manage data entry tasks.
  • Coordinate billing and insurance verification to facilitate easy patient processing.
  • Assist with the preparation and organization of patient medical files and forms.
  • Communicate clearly with patients about services, wait times, and procedure details.
  • Ensure the waiting and reception area is tidy and presentable at all times.
  • Handle patient correspondence including appointment reminders and follow-up calls.
  • Support the dental team with additional clerical duties as required or requested.
  • Operate office equipment such as copiers, fax machines, and phone systems efficiently.
  • Foster a professional and calm atmosphere during patient interactions and emergencies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification is a plus.
  • Proficiency in dental software and Microsoft Office applications is essential.
  • Demonstrated experience in a receptionist or customer service role preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are mandatory.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail required daily.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive and professional demeanor with effective problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of dental terminology and procedures will be beneficial.
